By downloading or using ThunderVolt ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
ThunderVolt grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms.
You may not:
ThunderVolt Lite is available at no charge via the Mac App Store. It includes hardware-level SMC battery control with an 80% charge limit and standard charging modes. Lite features may change over time.
ThunderVolt Advanced is available via direct download and is sold through LemonSqueezy. Purchasing Advanced grants you access to additional features including sub-80% limits, AI degradation prediction, iPhone and Apple Watch remote control, fleet sync, and Smart Context.
New Advanced subscribers receive a 7-day free trial on monthly and annual plans. No credit card is required to download and trial the app. Your trial begins when you first activate an Advanced license key. If you do not purchase before the trial expires, Advanced features are disabled and the app reverts to Lite functionality — your Mac, battery, and data are unaffected.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. To cancel, visit your LemonSqueezy customer portal linked in your purchase receipt.
Subscription payments are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you are unsatisfied for any reason. Lifetime purchases are eligible for a full refund within 30 days. To request a refund, email support@thundervolt.app with your order number. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
ThunderVolt communicates with your Mac's System Management Controller (SMC) via Apple's IOKit framework to enforce charge limits. This is the same hardware interface used by macOS itself. While we have engineered the App carefully and tested it across supported Mac models, you use hardware-level features at your own risk. ThunderVolt is not liable for battery wear, hardware damage, or data loss arising from use of the App.
ThunderVolt is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Apple Inc. "Mac", "macOS", "Apple Watch", and "iPhone" are trademarks of Apple Inc.
ThunderVolt requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. The iOS companion app requires iOS 16 or later. The watchOS companion app requires watchOS 9 or later. We do not guarantee compatibility with future OS versions, though we will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ThunderVolt and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or hardware damage, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
